Whether someone struggling with addiction recognizes they have a problem or not, taking the first step toward getting help is always the most difficult.

If you are an individual or know someone living with an addiction, we can help you start on your path to recovery. The first step is to call and schedule an appointment or walk into one of our clinics in Malone, Saranac Lake, or Massena. If urgent, call our Crisis and Recovery Center at 518-481-8160 or click here for more information.

What you can expect from a substance use disorder evaluation:

  1. Our highly-trained and comforting clinicians will meet with you and review your addiction history. We review your substance of choice and look at some of the external factors that may be contributing to the pattern of addiction. This may include personal trauma, family issues, employment history and other factors. The initial evaluation normally takes about an hour, depending on the individual’s needs.
  2. Using this assessment, our clinicians will recommend different levels of care. Levels of care include but are not limited to an outpatient individual or group therapy, referral for suboxone, or, if needed, referrals for higher levels of care like inpatient addiction treatment.
  3. If inpatient treatment is recommended, our caregivers guide you through every step, from making the necessary phone calls and speaking with an intake coordinator to managing transportation and any prior authorizations with insurance companies or other required approvals. We promise to make the process as easy as possible.
