Often, a mental health or addiction crisis doesn’t require hospitalization, however, it does need immediate attention. We offer mental health and substance use disorder treatments such as:
Rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention and stabilization
Mental health and addiction counseling
Co-occurring conditions therapy
Outpatient detoxification
Voluntary respite stays
Therapy groups and peer-run groups
While in our care, we provide:
Individualized treatment and recovery planning
Case management and care coordination
Recovery-focused crisis support
Access to a team of highly trained behavioral health professionals
A respectful, home-like environment
Connection to community-based services
If you are in urgent need, withdrawal or are transitioning from a higher level of care, such as an inpatient setting for mental health or addiction care, we can offer you the appropriate level of support—no appointment needed.
When to use a Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center?
Behavioral Health Urgent Care Centers (BHUC Centers) help stabilize and provide treatment for individuals who need immediate support related to substance use and mental health. When dealing with a mental health or addiction-related crisis, it can be difficult to determine if symptoms warrant a trip to the emergency room. BHUC Centers are designed to provide you with immediate care for urgent mental health or addiction-related needs but not medical emergencies.
The skilled and caring team of health professionals at our state-of-the-art clinics triage, provide crisis risk assessments, and evaluate the mental health and addiction treatment needs for every individual. Our care team will also connect every person with community-based resources and other supports that promote individual health.
Our care team can help with:
Suicidal thoughts
Medication side-effects
Panic attacks
Anxiousness or depression
Running out of medication too soon
Withdrawal symptoms
Difficulty perceiving reality (hallucinating or delusional thinking)
Increasing thoughts of harming yourself or others
Extreme changes in mood
If you are unsure where to go, call us at 518-481-8160 or reach out through our contact form—we can help. If you feel you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.
What can you expect during your visit?
We assess
We want to make sure people are connected to the best level of care for their current situation. Our medical team speaks with you and determines if emergency medical services are necessary.
We care for the immediate concern
If medically cleared, our team of highly trained behavioral health professionals address what brought you to the center, helping to stabilize any mental health or addiction crisis you may be experiencing.
We make a plan together
The individualized treatment and recovery plan we create will help guide you after the crisis has passed. We connect you with the many community resources and services available to help support you, your situation, and the success of your treatment.
These services are for individuals receiving treatment for mental health, addiction or co-occurring conditions. Peer support services are intended to help individuals regain control and structure with their daily lives, and show they are not defined by their diagnosis.
At Citizen Advocates, we work as a team to provide the best individual, person-centered services to the people we serve. Care coordination assists clients with identifying and accessing the services that will assist them in addressing the problems they are experiencing, or that will help them to achieve a higher quality life or level of functioning.
