Mental health and addiction services are essential, and the need becomes even more critical during a public health emergency. Tele-mental health is an established and quickly-growing field. Medically-trained professionals like physicians, nurse practitioners and therapists provide counseling and support over the internet through a secure, HIPAA compliant connection. Communication can be established via email, video conference or a phone call.

Citizen Advocates has dramatically expanded the availability of mental health and addiction support through the use of tele-mental health services. The use of this technology was deployed in response to COVID-19 but has proven to be extremely helpful in a number of other ways.

Tele-mental health is ideal for individuals who cannot leave their home, work unconventional hours, or those who live in rural or remote areas.

Business as usual was no longer an option for our Behavioral Health Services due to COVID-19. With a focus on individual health and safety, meeting the needs of those we support in a traditional setting was substituted with a tele-mental health solution.

While the method of service was modified, patients still receive treatment from Citizen Advocates’ specially trained medical professionals, therapists and support staff.

Whether it’s for mental health or addiction treatment and recovery, Citizen Advocates provides person-centered, compassionate therapy services to all age groups.

All individuals in our care receive an initial assessment to determine treatment needs. Once determined we focus on developing the right tools and resources to support a sustained, long-term recovery.  Additionally, services can be tailored to individual, group or family needs.
