At-risk youth services
At-Risk Youth programs at Citizen Advocates are available to youth of all ages who are exhibiting behavioral and/or emotional problems of varying degrees.
We offer school-based counseling services for youth who experience behavioral, emotional or substance abuse problems that affect school performance.
The highly trained and deeply compassionate counselors at Citizen Advocates have provided individual and group counseling to many children who are depressed and at risk for self-destructive behavior.
Every year, our counselors provide youth behavioral health counseling services to hundreds of children and adolescents in schools throughout the North Country.

Our counselors play an important role in providing assessment, referrals, and ongoing supportive counseling to these youth and their families.
Services are provided on school sites during school hours. Parents and students may request services and school administrators refer students.
Counseling is provided by behavioral health professionals trained in child psychology, grief, crisis intervention counseling and pediatric mental health.
Our school-based team personally visits schools throughout Franklin County during regular weekday hours. In order to receive school-based services, a referral from the school or a clinician is needed. However, if one of our clinicians is completing an assessment, they may determine a referral for school-based services is appropriate.

We can offer temporary supervised care for the children whose families are experiencing a crisis or current stressors that are overwhelming for the family.
At Citizen Advocates, we work as a team to provide the best individual, person-centered services to the people we serve. Care coordination assists clients with identifying and accessing the services that will assist them in addressing the problems they are experiencing, or that will help them to achieve a higher quality life or level of functioning.
