Love and laughter filled the Constable Fire Department as Citizen Advocates’ Community Living team hosted a Valentine’s Party for staff and residents of its OPWDD Supervised and Supportive Housing programs. With a DJ spinning lively music, the space quickly transformed into a dance floor full of smiles, movement and joy.

Guests enjoyed festive games and activities before sitting down together for a spaghetti dinner and desserts to close out the evening.

The event was organized by Community Living’s activity planning group, led by managers Erin Hoseler and Katrina Armstrong. The group focuses on creating meaningful opportunities for individuals supported by Citizen Advocates to engage in experiences they might not otherwise have access to.

That work extends beyond special events. The team continues to build a range of opportunities, including regular programming such as Wellness Wednesdays at Citizen Advocates’ North Franklin Day Habilitation program. These sessions feature activities like Zumba, visits from support animals and lessons on healthy living.

“We want to give the people we support great experiences and bring in the community to enjoy those experiences, when possible,” said Ms. Hoseler.

Plans are already underway for additional events in the coming months, each designed to foster inclusion, engagement and connection both within programs and throughout the broader community.
