One of Citizen Advocates’ greatest assets is its experienced and skilled workforce. As a result, two long-time employees with a combined 25 years of experience are moving into new positions at the organization.
The first is Rich Brown, who recently accepted the position of Associate Director of Community Support Operations. Rich started as a DSP at the Willard Street residence 15 years ago. Since then, he’s worked at the Adirondack Youth Lodge as a Residential Aide, Program Coordinator, Community Services Supervisor and most recently Housing and Community Services Manager.
The experience Rich gained in these positions helped build his familiarity and knowledge of the numerous housing and community support programs offered by Citizen Advocates. More so, he is committed to the communities we serve and our Mission of Making Lives Better.
In his new role he plans to focus on fully integrating our services to improve the quality of life for those we support, but also to boost awareness of and accessibility to our community-based programs.
This also means making sure staff have the support, training and knowledge needed to provide exceptional service delivery.
Community Support Operations covers programs and services that connect individuals with Care Coordination, Affirmative Businesses, School and Community Prevention, Day and Community Habilitation, Supported Work, Community Clubs, and Self-Direction.
Similarly, Courtney Frank has been with Citizen Advocates for 10 years, and was recently named the Associate Director of Health Operations.
She began her career at Citizen Advocates as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, working her way up the ranks to become the Manager of the Saranac Lake Clinic and later the Practice Manager for the Massena Behavioral Health Clinic.
As the Associate Director of Health Operations, Courtney will oversee all current clinical practices where mental health and addiction services are provided, including future locations.
She is also responsible for driving improvement efforts through effective staff and provider involvement, project management, and increased communication throughout the department.
Among her goals is to ensure whole person, best-in-class healthcare to clients of all ages with empathy, dignity and kindness.
