24/7 walk-in care for all ages

Often, a mental health or addiction crisis doesn’t require hospitalization, however, it does need immediate attention. Our care team offers:

  • Rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention and stabilization
  • Mental health and addiction counseling
  • Co-occurring conditions therapy
  • Outpatient detoxification
  • Voluntary respite stays
  • Individualized treatment and recovery planning
  • Case management and care coordination
  • Connection to community-based services

If you are in urgent need, withdrawal or are transitioning from a higher level of care, such as an inpatient setting for mental health or addiction care, we can offer you the appropriate level of support—no appointment needed.

When to use a Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center

Behavioral Health Urgent Care Centers (BHUC Centers) help stabilize and provide treatment for individuals who need immediate support related to substance use and mental health. The skilled and caring team of health professionals at our state-of-the-art clinics triage, provide crisis risk assessments and evaluate the mental health and addiction treatment needs for every individual. Our care team will also connect every person with community-based resources and other supports that promote individual health.

Our care team can help with:

  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Medication side-effects
  • Panic attacks
  • Anxiousness or depression
  • Running out of medication too soon

  • Withdrawal symptoms
  • Difficulty perceiving reality (hallucinating or delusional thinking)
  • Increasing thoughts of harming yourself or others
  • Extreme changes in mood

BHUC Centers attempt to fill a gap in our healthcare system by providing an alternative to the Emergency Department for individuals who need urgent, more specialized care in a safe, home-like environment. This personalized, one-on-one care in a respectful environment can lead to better outcomes and is generally less costly than hospitalization.

BHUC Center or Emergency Department?

When to go where.

When dealing with a mental health or addiction-related crisis, it can be difficult to determine if symptoms warrant a trip to the emergency room. BHUC Centers are designed to provide you with immediate care for urgent mental health or addiction-related needs but not medical emergencies.

If you are unsure where to go, call us at 518-481-8160 or reach out through our contact form—we can help. If you feel you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.
